Ingredients

Scale
  • ¾ Cup Crisco
  • ½ Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • ½ Cup Molasses
  • 2 Cups Flour
  • 3 Teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 Teaspoon Ginger
  • ½ Teaspoon Cloves

Instructions

  1. Mix shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add eggs and molasses and beat again.
  3. Add dry ingredients and mix well.
  4. Roll into balls and then roll in additional sugar.
  5. Bake at 300* for 12-15 minutes. Remove to wire rack to cool.
  6. Cookies will be a little soft and turn hard after cooling.
